JANA M. SCOVILLE, MBA
Jana Scoville has ten years of experience in public relations and marketing communications. She currently serves as the Director of Community Relations for the DeKalb Community Service Board, a public, not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization in which she is responsible for developing and managing the annual public relations and marketing plan and strategy. During her tenure at the DeKalb CSB, she has implemented several initiatives that have boosted the agency’s prominence within the community including a 35-member speaker’s bureau, a 15 member advisory council to the board of directors and, most recently, a 501-c-3 foundation which serves as the agency’s fundraising arm. Ms. Scoville directs the fundraising and development plans of the DeKalb CSB Foundation, Inc. Fundraising events that Ms. Scoville has been responsible for implementing include a first annual “Expressions of the Journey” Auction held on October 26, 2006, which raised $25k with over 175 in attendance and a first annual “Walk of HEROes” held on July 21, 2007, which raised over $15k with over 200 people in attendance.
Ms. Scoville is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Marketing Association where she serves as a Board Member and Chair of the Non-Profit Special Interest Group. In 2006 Ms. Scoville served on an advisory committee, which implemented a pro-bono pilot project for the American Marketing Association’s Atlanta chapter. With the success of last year’s pilot program, she is currently heading up the AMA-Atlanta’s first Pro Bono project. She is also involved in the Georgia Chapter of Public Relations Society of America where she works on the Seminars Committee and most recently planned a strategic planning seminar for high-level PR practitioners. In addition, Ms. Scoville writes for the PRactitioner, the quarterly magazine of PRSA – GA. Ms. Scoville is also involved in the Atlanta Women’s Network, Community Consulting Teams, in which she has served as a marketing consultant for local non-profits, and has been selected to participate in the 2008 Leadership DeKalb class. Ms. Scoville received her Master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing from Kennesaw State University and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism with an emphasis in public relations from the University of Georgia.
