Dear Potential Clients,
I specialize in working with college and graduate students on dissertations, theses, and admissions essays, as well as with non-academics who have editing needs in a variety of mediums ranging from books to short stories to newsletters to presentations. I am the sole editor in my business, and thus, your projects will be handled personally and confidentially by me and will not be outsourced to others of lower ability levels. I have a background in neurobiology and physiology, graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, have been doing editing work for 10 years, and am highly-skilled in editing all written materials, especially research papers, presentations, and articles in the sciences, as well as English, history, literature, and other subject papers, reports, and term papers. I’m also skilled in APA formatting for those with that need. Further, I have been an academic tutor for 11 years and have taught writing to students at various levels.
However, rather than listening to my credentials, let my work speak for itself. So you know what you will be getting, I am happy to edit a page of your document and return it for your review; this way, you can see my skills as an editor applied personally to your document. If you like the results, we can continue, and if you don't feel it’s the right fit, then you have no obligation to use my service. I offer various levels of editing depending on the specific needs of the document, ranging from proofreading to full editing services. My fee is based on: 1) The level of editing needed to produce a clean, clear, and correct document, and 2) The length of the document, with 300 words equating to one page. I offer very reasonable turnaround times as well as rush editing services for those who need a document edited quickly.
In general, proofreading (spelling, grammar, typos, punctuation, basic technical errors) is $2-5/page; documents requiring full editing (proofreading plus reworking sentence and paragraph structure, major revisions, making sure writing flows and makes sense) are $6-9/page; those in between will be quoted appropriately; occasionally, there are documents which require even more work or much less work, and those will be priced on a case-by-case basis. The overall goal of my editing is to clarify your writing while maintaining your voice and ideas; I aim to please my customers by being honest, responding quickly, and working on each piece as if it were my own.
